If you are applying for the student loan and you are experiencing difficulties proceeding to complete and submit your application, this post is for you. In this post, I have listed common general issues experienced by student loan applicants to help the apply for the loan successfully.
Please, read carefully and follow the instructions below:
1. Failed JAMB Verification
SOLUTION: Students should make sure they have JAMB-accredited admissions to avoid this issue.
2. Failed NIN Verification
SOLUTION: Students are to ensure that the name format (First Name, Last Name & Middle Name) on both JAMB Number and NIN match.
3. Applicants who did not receive verification mail
SOLUTION: The student most likely imputed the wrong email (They should reach out to our support agents with their JAMB number and correct email).
4. Applicants who have issues verifying educational information
SOLUTION: Applicants are to contact their DICTs to ensure their details (Full Name, Matric Number, JAMB reg Number and School Fees) are properly captured in the student verification system.
5. Failed BVN Verification
SOLUTION: Students are to ensure that the bank Account Number provided is tied to the Bank Verification Number (BVN).
Students are also to ensure that the name format (First Name, Last Name & Middle Name) on both BVN and NIN match.
6. Unable to request for the loan due to lack of institutional fees
SOLUTION: Applicants must contact their DICTs to ensure that their school fees are properly uploaded in the student verification system.

To resolve the bank verification failed issue, make sure that the name on your BVN is written as it is in your JAMB and bank account.
For example, if your name is Nafhad Salihu Mohammed, then it should appear like this;
BVN: Nafhad Salihu Mohammed
NIN: Nafhad Salihu Mohammed
Bank Account: Nafhad Salihu Mohammed
JAMB: Nafhad Salihu Mohammed
If it’s not written like the example above, then you need to contact NELFUND support team for assistance.

Make sure that the name on your BVN matches your JAMB details and it will go through.
Mine keeps showing me….BVN does not exist.
