1. Head to the official application portal at https://nelf.gov.ng.
2. Click on “Apply Now“
3. Click on “Get Started”
4. Click “Yes, I am a Nigerian” to continue.
5. Confirm your educational information by selecting your school from a drop-down menu and entering your matriculation number to check if your school has uploaded your details.
6. Click on “Verify with JAMB” and input your JAMB details on the screen. If your NIN has not been registered with JAMB, you will have the option to enter it for validation.
7. Register an account by providing your email address, password, and confirming your password in the designated fields. Then, click on “Create Account”.
8. Open the email verification link sent to your email to complete the account creation process.

How To Complete Your Profile On Student Loan Portal

After successfully registering, log in by clicking the “LOGIN” button.

1. Enter your email address and password to log in.
2. Click on the “Proceed to Contact Details” button.
3. Update your contact details with the current information of your Phone Number, Full Residential Address, State of Residence, and Local Government Area of Residence. Then click “Proceed to Educational Details”.
4. Update your educational details by selecting your Higher Institution and inputting your Matric Number. Then click “Proceed to Account Details”.
5. Verify your BVN by entering your BVN, selecting your Bank Name, and entering your Account Number. Click “Save Changes” to complete your profile.

Student Loan Application Process

• After logging into the application, click on the “Request for Student Loan” button located at the top right of the screen on the home or loans page.
• If you require an upkeep loan, check the box and click on “Continue”. If you only need the institutional charge, click the “Continue” button.
• Upload the necessary supporting documents.

Note that applicants are required to submit an admission letter, while the Student ID and Institution Invoice are optional.

To proceed, check the box for the policy and declaration, then click “Continue”.

• Review the loan overview, check the boxes for both the Terms & Conditions and GSI Mandate, and click “Submit Application.”.
• Click the “Loans” button to check the status of your application.
